The garden was born in the first of the ‘900 on what was a vegetable garden, fruit of the fragmentation created by the construction of district Barbano. The garden was designed in the late Romantic style and was thought of as "place of meditation and rest", with stone paths that crossed it over all the extension.

The garden, designed as a continuation of the palace jardin d’hiver, had several flower beds, a beautiful nymphaion with a terracotta statue, still existing, representing the goddess Ceres, and with an orangerie who occupied two of the 3 sides of the garden ; there were planted exotic essences, different species of roses, magnolias.

Inside the garden there are also three ancient free born palms. Over the years the garden was remodeled with the addition of marble statues and a fountain. The current appearance of the garden is not very different from how it seemed almost a century ago and one can breathe the same air of tranquility and peace, so dear to the tourists of the ‘800 and ‘900, traveling for the grand tour.
